Film screening and panel
”Never Again” Is Now? – films about memory and resistance
The film screening will be followed by a panel discussion 80 Jahre nach 1945 – Herausforderungen und Relevanz der Gedächtniskultur:
The remembrance of the end of the Second World War in 1945 looks back on 80 years of history and has changed over the decades. Today, we are at a turning point where these memories are facing new challenges: the increasing distance in time, the approaching end of contemporary witnesses, the threat of right-wing extremist developments, the war in Ukraine and the conflicts in the Middle East. What significance does this have for our culture of remembrance, and how can we convey the relevance of history for the present?
The event will be held in German.
