The film screening will be followed by the panel discussion Europatag – Dialog über das Ende des Zweiten Weltkriegs und die Zukunft Europas:
As part of Europe Day, we are offering a dialogue with European guests that looks at the end of the Second World War and the beginning of a new Europe. We will discuss the consequences of fascism, reconstruction and the current challenges posed by the rise of right-wing forces and an increasingly fragmented culture of remembrance.
The event will be held in German.

SOLIDARITY

Solidarity is well intended but not always well implemented. Following on from DEMOCRACY, David Bernet once again addresses a social value that seems non-negotiable. The film’s central theme is refugee policy, which is illuminated using Belarus, Ukraine and Gaza/Israel as examples and contextualised by experts as well as those personally affected. Anja Klauck

Biography
David Bernet studied literature and philosophy in Vienna and Berlin. He worked as a journalist for print and radio and later as a writer and production manager for documentary film productions. He has been making his first short documentaries since 2000.
