AGAINST THE TIDE
France, India 2023 – Director: Sarvnik Kaur – Original language: Hindi, Marathi – Subtitles: English – Length: 97 min.
Ganesh and Rakesh are Koli fishermen in Mumbai. Traditionally, they fish in shallow waters, in tune with the tide. But their hauls are steadily decreasing. Ganesh thinks the future of fishing lies in the new technologies imported from China. For Rakesh this is a betrayal of tradition. A film about friendship, climate change and globalisation.
