In a valley in the Ukrainian forest Carpathians lies the forgotten Austrian village of Königsfeld. After Queen Maria Theresa settled forest workers here more than two centuries ago, a timber industry grew up. Today, however, only factory ruins, potholes in the valley road and the increasingly seldom heard dialect bear witness to this.
