The momentous Rolling Stones concert at Altamont Speedway in 1969 had fatal consequences: a fan was stabbed to death by the Hells Angels security guards. The filmmakers were live on the scene. From the band’s performance, backstage footage, concert preparations and the fateful events, they crafted an idiosyncratic and controversial musical document.
