She always offered herring and vodka to the visitors in her apartment in St. Germain de Prés. Marceline Loridan-Ivens, survivor from Birkenau and later actress, filmmaker and writer, was a rebel all her life. Courageous, angry and radical she started her first movies under the influence of the Nouvelle Vague. Later she moved around the world with the legendary documentary film pioneer Joris Ivens, her second husband, and made political films.

The film celebrates its world premiere at the DOK.fest München 2019.
