QUEEN LEAR
Turkey 2019 – Director: Pelin Esmer – Original language: Turkish – Subtitles: English – Length: 84 min.
A group of women from the southern Turkish village of Arslanköy put on a performance of “King Lear.” In it they dispense with male actors and play all the roles themselves. The result is theatre that amuses and inspires and doesn’t just turn King Lear’s life upside down.
We present the German premiere of the film at DOK.fest München 2020 @home.
