Many people grieved with the traumatised survivors but their condolences did not reach the Arslan family until decades later. A harrowing film about official failures and the fight for a new culture of remembrance.

Biography
Martina Priessner works as an independent filmmaker and author in Berlin and Istanbul. She has received scholarships from Nipkow, DEFA, Mercator, and the Tarabya Cultural Academy. DIE WÄCHTERIN was awarded the Documentary Film Award of the Goethe-Institut in 2020.
