Vrej grows up in the rolling hills of his homeland with heroic songs and believing that armed conflict is unavoidable. When the war over the former republic of Nagorno-Karabakh flares up again, the family must flee once more - with no certainty of returning. This dense and affectionate observational piece is Hairabedian’s feature-length debut. Anna Magdalena Hofer

Content warning: The film contains scenes of military and warlike violence.
