“Severe pain” is what the singer of the Allgäu band Rainer Von Vielen felt when they were suddenly no longer allowed to make music in spring 2020. The film director Eva Hartmann accompanies Rainer Hartmann and Michael Schönmetzer through the pandemic. With new jobs, innovative concert formats and faithful fans, the childhood friends keep the music alive – because they have not yet given up on their dreams. Barbara Off

Biography
Eva Hartmann studied media art at the HfG Karlsruhe with Andrei Ujica. As part of a DAAD scholarship, she spent a year at York University Toronto. Since 2009, she has been involved in numerous documentary films that have been shown internationally on television, in cinemas and at festivals. She also teaches editing and dramaturgy at the HFF Munich and the HfG Karlsruhe.
