Director Janna Ji Wonders tells the story of her family over four generations from the point of view of women, each defying in their own way the patriarchal structures of their time. It’s about the women’s search for identity, roots and self-fulfillment, it’s about love, pain, longing, loss, psychotic conditions, birth, death – the cycle of life.
Biography
Janna Ji Wonders was born in 1978 in Mill Valley, California and grew up at Walchensee in Bavaria. She studied at the HFF Munich and shot numerous music videos. She is the singer of the band YA-HA! and works as a director. WALCHENSEE FOREVER was awarded the Bavarian Film Prize in 2020 for the best documentary film.
