New thematic programme sections

For the 40th DOK.fest München, the former programme scheme is being dissolved.
The festival films are divided into thematically focussed section, films are nominated for the VIKTORIAs and other awards across all sections. This will make it much easier for audiences to orientate themselves when selecting films.

Festival directors Daniel Sponsel and Adele Kohout: "We are looking forward to a very diverse programme, which we are presenting this year in a new section scheme based on current themes. Our curatorial approach will be more clearly visible than before. We are very excited to see how this categorisation and the greater overview will be received by our audience. Another piece of good news: the number of films realised by female directors is approaching gender parity, which is a good development in the industry. We are looking forward to our guests and the different voices and perspectives on the world."
