Éva Fahidi was 18 when she was deported with her family to Auschwitz. She was the only one to survive. Touched by her biography, the choreographer Réka Szabó puts together a performance with Fahidi and the dancer Emese Cuhorka. The film follows them through their rehearsals and as they engage in a dialogue in which they are increasingly confronted by trauma.Pablo Bücheler
Biography
Réka Szabó is the artistic director of one of Hungary's most important dance theatre groups. Some of her experimental films such as MOURNING were screened at several festivals. THE EUPHORIA OF BEING is her first feature-length documentary film.
