Second Mayor of the City of Munich Dominik Krause
The current DOK.education festival programme shows just how valuable documentary film can be for our society. At a time when we are confronted with different perspectives and interpretations of reality, it is more important than ever to reflect on the impact of film language in addition to enjoying artistic film narratives. The film education experts at DOK.fest München promote critical thinking with their film education and encourage people to align their own values with the good of the community.
In the three films of the Schule des Sehens, the topics of inclusion, personal development and integration become a contemporary experience for school classes. They meet the filmmakers at the University of Television and Film, the Gasteig HP8, the Pasinger Fabrik and the Münchner Volkshochschule. In addition, educational institutions throughout Germany use the online programmes developed in Munich.
As patron, I would like to thank everyone involved for their valuable work and for the great offer that DOK.education makes with its festival programme. I wish the organisers every success and hope you all enjoy watching, discovering and being amazed.
