Jury of FFF Talent Award Documentary Film 2024
The FFF Förderpreis Dokumentarfilm (Talent Award Documentary Film) is sponsored by FilmFernsehFonds Bayern and endowed with 5,000 euros. The award is granted to up-and-coming Bavarian directors across all series.
First or second films by emerging directors produced in Bavaria are nominated. The directors should live in Bavaria, be native Bavarians or have studied in Bavaria.
Marion Czarny
Head of Fipadoc Campus
Holder of a postgraduate degree in Cultural Project Management from La Sorbonne, Marion Czarny did part of her studies in the USA and Ireland. She worked as an editorial assistant for different cinema magazines and as a programmer for several festivals before joining Fipadoc as the head of Campus in 2008.
Mette Hoffmann Meyer
CEO and founder of THE WHY Foundation
Mette Hoffmann Meyer is an award-winning Danish producer. She is the CEO and founder of THE WHY Foundation in Copenhagen, and was previously head of documentaries and co-productions at Denmark’s public service broadcasting cooperation DR. She has worked on a number of award winning films, including PUSSY RIOT: A PUNK PRAYER, MAID IN HELL, and STEALING AFRICA. She holds two Oscars, a Peabody, a Grierson and an Emmy to her name and has also produced a number of Oscar nominated films. She also won a Doc Mogul award for supporting young filmmakers. Mette has been a jury member for IDFA, Sundance, Emmy, Women in Film, One World Film and the Danish Television Festival.
Hanns-Georg Rodek
Chief film correspondent for “Die Welt” and freelance author
Born in 1957, editor of “Showbusiness-Enzyklopädie des 20. Jahrhunderts”, from 1995 to 2023 film editor of “Die Welt”, TV host of “Ein Abend mit…” on TNT, jury member Cannes, Gerd Ruge Prize, Around the World in 14 Films, Hamburg, Zurich etc., 2008 to 2012 spokesman of the board of the German Film Critics’ Association.
