NEXTUS Teacher training
Working with NEXTUS in the classroom
NEXTUS is a film platform developed for schools that integrates documentary films as an educational element into lessons. It offers secondary educational institutions free access to award-winning films, film clips and teaching materials on socially relevant topics. The platform has been growing continuously since 2020 and is now used by over 10,000 teachers across Europe. It supports action-oriented learning by illustrating theoretical concepts with real-life stories and is based on the UN's 17 Sustainable Development Goals and key curriculum content.
Media literacy is an interdisciplinary educational goal in the competence-oriented curricula of German schools. Media education and digital education are firmly anchored in all curricula. Nextus enables teachers to integrate these requirements into their lessons in an appealing and challenging way.

What happens after the online training?
By arrangement, we are happy to offer further face-to-face training at your school to introduce teachers to the practical use of the platform. Our aim is to familiarize the teaching staff with the possibilities of Nextus and to work out together how the platform can be used effectively in the classroom.
Using a topic relevant to the curriculum - such as artificial intelligence, climate change or social media - teachers create favorites and folders, download teaching materials and try out how to use the platform in practice.
