Workshop with AI expert Fritz Espenlaub
AI and film - can they go together?
Filmmaking with the help of AI? In the workshop, AI expert Fritz Espenlaub presents a selection of tools that can be used sensibly and carefully. And he explains how to recognize AI-generated content - and false information.
Fritz Espenlaub is an economist, tech journalist and host of Der KI-Podcast, the weekly ARD podcast on the AI revolution. Before his traineeship at Bayerischer Rundfunk, he worked at the Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) in Paris. He writes and talks about how artificial intelligence is changing our society, economy and work for ARD and other media. He also holds workshops and lectures on AI, technology and podcasting as a speaker at BR macht Schule.

Come to the award ceremony after the workshop!
Following the workshop, the award ceremony for the Dokumentarfilmwettbewerb für junge Menschen will take place as part of DOK.fest München. The jury – which also includes Fritz Espenlaub – will present and award prizes to five outstanding documentary films on the subject of LIFE! submitted by school students from all over Bavaria. On stage, the young filmmakers will talk about their filming experiences and win prizes totalling 1,100 euros, donated by the Bavarian Teachers’ Association (BLLV e.V.). Afterwards, there will be an opportunity to exchange ideas at the reception in the Minna Thiel railway carriage café directly in front of HFF Munich. Celebrate with us and take a look behind the scenes of cinematic creation at the big award ceremony!
The workshop is a co-operation with BR Medienkompetenzprojekte. Further BR media education programmes for young people, pupils and teachers can be found here. Thanks to Bayerischer Rundfunk!
