DOK.fest at the International Weeks against Racism

As part of the International Weeks against Racism, NORWEGIAN DEMOCRAZY takes a look at a country which in recent years often had to deal with the question of when debates are still legitimate and where dangerous extremism begins. At a time when the fundamental values of democracy are being severely tested in many places and societies are feeling divided, the film provides a multifaceted and highly topical analysis.

The appearance of the SIAN (Stop the Islamization of Norway) organisation on the streets of Norway puts the ideals of freedom of expression and democratic dialogue to the test. The right-wing camp and their opponents are irreconcilably opposed – leading to violence. Where do you draw the line between legitimate debate and dangerous extremism? Eva Weinmann
