As vice president, “Leni” had to put up with the brutality of the outgoing Philippines president. The film shows how she addresses this with a smile and stands by her motto, “love is radical” between pink musical numbers and tenacious campaigning. In all cases, the enthusiasm with which she takes on the uneven political battle between her and the son of the former dictator Marcos is radical. Sara Gómez
