Why is there Nazi propaganda in Grandfather and Grandmother’s cupboard? After the death of Arnon Goldfinger’s grandmother, the filmmaker and his mother start cleaning out his grandparents’ flat. Here he comes across traces of a past that are unfathomable to him. His Jewish grandparents were close friends with the family of the SS Commander Baron von Mildenstein, not only before but also after the 2nd World War… How could that be? In his search for answers, Arnon Goldfinger encounters the unexpected, the bare facts, and also, time after time, the repressed. Biography
Arnon Goldfinger – Works as a screenwriter, director and producer since 1992. Teaches directing and screenwriting at Tel Aviv University. DIE WOHNUNG was awarded Best Documentary at the Bavarian Film Awards 2011.
