JOURNEY TO THE SUN
Portugal 2021 – Director: Ansgar Schaefer, Susana de Sousa Dias – Original language: German – Subtitles: English – Length: 107 min.
Sunshine, the first oranges and colours again at last: from 1947 onwards, more than 5,000 Austrian children were sent by Caritas to live with host families in Portugal for a few months. The aim was for them to regain their strength and be allowed to play again after the horrors of the war. A quiet, impressive journey in black-and-white footage into (un)troubled childhood memories. Anne Dietrich
We present the German premiere of the film.
