2010 DOK.deutsch Jury
This jury will select the winner of the DOK.deutsch competition and the FFF-Documentary-Talent Award.
- Ingo Fliess, Producer, Munich
Fliess studied Art History and worked from 1994 in the renowned ‘Verlag der Autoren’ as a Script Agent, Editor, and Business Manager. At the end of 2006 he founded ‘if... Productions,’ which specialised in auteur documentary films and ambitious feature films. In 2008, together with Jörg Adolph & Gereon Wetzel, he established DocCollection, a distribution company for documentary films. Alongside his work as a producer he teaches at various film schools.
- Amelie von Kienlin, Telepool GmbH, Munich
Von Kienlin studied History, Politics and Literature at Humboldt University in Berlin and at the University of Edinburgh. She then worked as Assistant to the Executive Board at Sperl Film GmbH. From 2004 she was responsible for content development at the Tangram Christian Bauer film production company. Since September 2006 she has been Head of Programme Acquisition for International Distribution at Telepool GmbH.
- Katrin Rothe, Director, Berlin
Rothe studied Experimental Film Art at Hdk Berlin and Central St. Martins in London. She was appointed a Master Scholar and awarded the NaFög scholarship by the Federal State of Berlin. From 2000 she worked as a freelance animator and founded the Berlin label www.karotoons.de. Since 2003 she has been a freelance director and in 2007 she won the Adolf-Grimmepreis for the documentary series STELLMICHEIN. Her latest film POLEN FÜR ANFÄNGER is a documentary comedy with animation sequences.
- Martin Thau, Script Workshop, Munich
Thau studied Philosophy and Contemporary German Literature in Würzburg and Munich. Since then he has worked as an author of entertainment and specialised books and as a dramaturge. He is the Education Director of the Munich Script Workshop at the University for Television and Film Munich, HFF. In addition he works as a visiting lecturer at the Goethe Institute, the Deutsche Welle Academy and the Friedrich Ebert Foundation. He is the author of several scripts for film and television, including URBAN EXPLORER, 2009.
- Gerhard Wissner Ventura, Festival Director, Kassel
Wissner Ventura gained a Masters Degree in Politics and Education at the GH University Kassel. From 1985 he worked for Filmladen Kassel e.V. where he was responsible, among other things, for the organisation of several film series. Later he was Curator of the Kassler Documentary Film and Video Festival and since 1997 has been Festival Director. He is the Founder and Co-owner of the Bali cinemas in Kassel. In addition he works as a freelance curator for, among others, Werkleitz Biennale (1998, 2002) and organised the “documenta-Filmreihen” in 1997, 2002 and 2007.
