DOK.fest 2012 was a great success!
We are delighted to have had such an excellent festival week and a record number of visitors!
The record-breaking number of 16,500 tickets sold speaks for itself! This year DOK.fest welcomed over 30 percent more visitors to its cinemas and DOK.forum than the year before. But it is not only the audience figures that speak volumes; the atmosphere of the festival and the audiences’ responses also exceeded expectations.
Daniel Sponsel comments: “The hard year of intensive preparationsfor the festival was more than worth it. The festival reached out to its audiences like never before and, in addition, DOK.forum was a great success with around 2,500 guests in the new HFF building, proving that Munich is a great location for events centred around documentary film. We hope that these successes will make it easier to fundraise for the next festival.” With this in mind, the festival team would like to thank its loyal and new audience members as well as its funders, partners and sponsors and is very much looking forward to the coming year.
